“What a delight to meet Minnesota’s next great U.S. Senator @peggyflanagan ! I was deeply inspired by the good neighbors I met in Minneapolis during the ICE occupation earlier this year. They showed the nation what it looks like to “fight, not fold” by rising up in solidarity when authoritarianism landed on their doorsteps. Peggy exemplifies that good-neighbor spirit, clear moral compass, and steel-spine determination. Can’t wait to serve with her in Washington.”

“You might not have MO-2 on your congressional district radar screen. But you should! (even if you weren’t born there ;-) MAGA Republicans tried to gerrymander the maps to steal two seats in Missouri. But their efforts were so blatantly illegal that even SCOTUS stopped them (three times … and yesterday for good). Now, my friend @FPWellman – a 22-year veteran, with a life of service that includes setting up a Covid field hospital here in NYC – has a real chance to win a midwestern district that’s been in GOP control for decades. A new poll just dropped showing the race is TIED! Fred can win – but he’s being badly outspent. Even a little will go a long way: https:// secure.actblue.com/donate/brad4fr ed …”

“Meanwhile, they’ve taken another step in their depraved effort to deny unaccompanied kids seeking asylum (or Special Immigrant Juvenile Status) even the most basic opportunity to explain why they fear deportation.”

“We’ve now reached the point of “black site” hearings – secret, illegal hearings as part of Trump & Stephen Miller’s wretched crusade to detain & deport our immigrant neighbors. Quite literally: hidden tribunals that disappear people.”

“War criminals are not welcome in New York City. I stood alongside a diverse set of Jewish New Yorkers and allies — at several protests today organized by @jvplive , by @truahrabbis & @jstreetdotorg , by @israelispeaceny — to say no to Israel’s ongoing destruction of Gaza, no to settler violence, no to human-made famine, no to U.S. tax dollars bombing entire families, and no to Netanyahu.”

“The West Bank is on fire with settler terrorism so grave that former Israeli generals & prime ministers, and even Mike Huckabee have spoken out — but the dire situation worsens daily. Al-Mughayyir is the sister village of Brooklyn synagogue @KolotChayeinu . Its 4,000 Palestinian residents have faced attacks from Israeli settlers for years, but now they face arson, the destruction of their water supply, and the shooting of their kids.”

“$131.5 million: the largest labor settlement in NYC’s history — and the largest resulting from any law I authored (so far). Props to @NYCMayor , @JulieSuLabor , @saalevine , and the great team at @helloDCWP on delivering this historic win for delivery workers, who were cheated out of pay they earned by DoorDash. When we passed the Minimum Pay Rate law in 2021, inspired by the organizing of @workersjusticep , we knew it would take diligent, creative, aggressive enforcement. The Mamdani Administration is showing powerfully what it looks like to govern on behalf of workers.”

“New York City should set the standard for what a pro-worker government looks like, including for the public servants who make our institutions work. I was proud to support @NYCCouncilUnion during my time on Council, and I’m just as proud to stand with them as they bargain for a fair contract. It’s a badge of honor that we had union representation on some of my previous campaigns and in the Comptroller’s office. All workers deserves a voice on the job, including those who help our elected officials best serve their communities. Join ALE today at noon at City Hall.”

“Kash Patel menacingly testified this week that he’s gearing up to send FBI agents to polling sites this fall to 𝗆̶𝗈̶𝗇̶𝗂̶𝗍̶𝗈̶𝗋̶ intimidate voters. Thankfully Hands Off NYC and Indivisible BK are out recruiting & training people to protect the vote. Join them: http:// handsoffnyc.com/vote”

“The spirit that’s moving in this city – on Election Night, I called it solidarity – offers a path forward to a future so much better than the grim, selfish, zero-sum world that Trump and AI oligarchs are offering. To have any chance to secure that future, we’ve got to get busy”

Gender & LGBTQ2

“Gender-affirming care saves lives, respects the rights of patients, and reflects that healthcare is supposed to be between providers and patients, not between providers and the Trump Administration. I recently met with families of trans kids, some of whom moved to New York because of our legacy of inclusion, who now feel like refugees forced to look for a new home that will protect their kids’ well-being. Shame on Mt. Sinai for capitulating with this settlement, which violates that legacy of inclusion, their own Hippocratic oath, and New York’s human rights laws.”

“Feminism is the radical notion that women are people. No one has done more than Gloria Steinem in the fight to convert that radical notion into the world we live in. Rest in power, Gloria. Your legacy is a shining source of inspiration as we continue the fight.”
