The socialist left was the only camp to report what Blanche said on a private call with thousands of religious leaders, and warned that his confirmation means "national anti-abortion actions may be one step closer as well." It noted the recording was publicly posted on YouTube by an intercessory prayer group and removed by Tuesday afternoon, and that the FDA's mifepristone safety review will not be ready until at least December.

Truthout reports the woman was under 14 weeks pregnant and took abortion medication to end her pregnancy. The judge expressed skepticism about the murder charge, noting Georgia law explicitly prohibits criminalizing self-induced abortions. District attorneys who previously pledged not to prosecute abortion seekers are now pursuing murder charges despite the statute's explicit carve-out. The woman is cast as a patient seeking healthcare who is being criminalized under a law never designed to cover her case — with the judge's own skepticism treated as authoritative.

The Federalist reports the woman was 22-24 weeks pregnant, that she obtained illegal opioids (oxycodone) and the banned-for-abortion drug misoprostol, that the baby was born alive and survived for one hour, and that opioids were found in the baby's blood. The murder charge under Georgia's felony murder statute is characterized as legally appropriate: prosecutors allege the opioid use, not the abortion procedure itself, caused the born-alive infant's death. The Federalist frames the media as weaponizing the story to attack Georgia's abortion law when the actual charge rests on drug use and a born-alive death. The factual contradiction is not ambiguous: the two outlets report the gestational age as either under 14 weeks or 22-24 weeks, and they directly disagree on whether the baby was born alive. These are verifiable facts. Neither outlet acknowledges the other's factual claims or addresses why the basic description of the same event differs so dramatically.

The evangelical press was the only camp to cover the confirmation through Blanche's own remarks to a prayer organization. The Christian Post reported that on a since-deleted Intercessors for America call he told faith leaders he wants the Dobbs decision made "permanent in every single state" and that people should wake up and say "God is front and center again," and that the Freedom From Religion Foundation condemned the remarks. It also noted the Family Research Council called him "well qualified."
The evangelical wing runs the AP text in full and foregrounds Vance's pronatalism, his line at the March for Life that "I want more babies in the United States of America."

The evangelical press builds its obituary out of statements from SBA Pro-Life America and the Family Research Council, and it is the only camp that leads with abortion. The paleoconservative right does the opposite: The American Conservative files six paragraphs of fact and notes he "held aggressive foreign policy positions," with no tribute at all.
